Konza Prairie Community Health Center is celebrating Community Care Clinic Month in August with a food drive to stock the Konza Cupboard, a free pantry located outside the clinic at 361 Grant Ave in Junction City.
The Goal: 600 pounds of food
The Konza Cupboard and Food Pantry serve hundreds of people each year so we have set a big goal to reach 600 pounds of food. Konza staff are working together, donating food to contribute to this effort.
The public is invited to donate food and personal hygiene items to help stock the Konza Cupboard. Donations can be dropped off at the Junction City Clinic Medical Check-in Desk – 361 Grant Ave in JC.
The most needed items are:
- Canned meats
- Canned vegetables
- Canned soups and pasta sauces
- Canned/dry beans
- Canned/dry fruit
- Dry cereals
- Nut butters
- Rice/noodles
- Shelf-stable milk
- Personal hygiene items
- Toothbrush & toothpaste
- Body wash & hand soap
- Shampoo & Conditioner
- Deodorant
- Laundry soap
- Period products
The Konza Cupboard was established in March 2021 to help fight hunger in the community; it provides emergency food for Konza patients in need at the Junction City and Manhattan clinics.
The Konza Cupboard is part of the Konza Cares initiative – programs developed by the clinic to increase access to food, clothing, medication, and other healthcare resources for our patients and the community.
Community Care Clinic Month is a time to celebrate and honor the vital work of community health centers – like Konza – which promote and support the well-being of all Kansans.
