OVARIAN CANCER
Ovarian cancer is not the most common type of cancer, but it is deadly. Women: Listen to your body. Symptoms of ovarian cancer can be difficult to pinpoint because they can be very similar to typical aches and pains you might experience. But when you start to notice these symptoms happening, it could be a sign of something more.

- Abdominal Pain
- Loss of Appetite
- Abnormal Bleeding – outside of your normal period or after menopause
- Changes to your Bowel and Urination Habits
- Finding a Lump in Your Lower Abdomen
Your risk of developing ovarian cancer increases with some factors. It’s important to discuss these risks with your healthcare provider.
- Family History – People in your family have had ovarian cancer or if you are of Eastern European (Ashkenazi) Jewish background
- Age – your risk increases as you get older
- Not having children
- Having endometriosis
- Having breast, uterine, or colorectal cancer in the past

UTERINE (ENDOMETRIAL) CANCER
Recognizing symptoms early and taking action is key. When uterine cancer is caught early, it often responds well to treatment and may even be cured.

Women who have gone through menopause:
Any vaginal bleeding after you have gone through menopause is the most common symptom of uterine cancer.
Women who have not gone through menopause:
Any unusual vaginal bleeding not related to your period (before menopause)
Types of Uterine Cancer:
- Endometrial Cancer – forms in the lining of the uterus; makes up 92% of all uterine cancer diagnoses
- Uterine Sarcoma – rare, but aggressive cancer that forms in the muscles or other tissues of the uterus
Other possible symptoms:
- Pain during sex
- Abdominal/pelvic cramping
- Frequent, difficult or painful urination
- Changes in your bowel habits
