Blessing boxes are small food pantries which provide easy access to non-perishable food. They are an important part of our community’s food safety net, allowing people to get the food they need when they have no other resources. Families with children are more likely to experience food insecurity when they lose access to school meals during summer and many turn to local blessing boxes to supplement their family’s food supply.
What to donate – Foods that are shelf-stable and require few or no extra ingredients to prepare:
- Canned fruits and veggies (with a pop-open top)
- Rice and canned beans (with a pop-open top)
